A free copy of your license is made available each time a change is made to your license record. Know if my license is available for printing
A free copy of your license is made available each time a change is made to your license record. If a free license print is not available right now, see the section above titled, "Print my license" for an alternative solution.
We strongly recommend you save your license for printing again, as only one license print is allowed from our system per license change—such as a license renewal or address change. The license is displayed on the screen in a PDF file format. Simply click the floppy disk icon at the top left of the license, or on the File menu, select Save As. A good place to save the license is on your desktop—handy for printing or e-mailing.
Go to www.statebasedsystems.com/EdTranscript.htm to print a copy of your education transcript. Once you have searched for your transcript, click the Print button. For best results, print your education transcript in landscape orientation. Here's how: 1) Click the Print button, 2) Click the Properties button or link in the Print dialog box, 3) Select the Layout/Finishing tab, 4) Select the Landscape radio button, 5) Click the OK button, 6) At the main Print screen, click the OK button. Depending on your printer, these print directions might be different, but you get the general idea.
View course completions for prior cycles
The education transcript includes a section titled, "Continuing Education Course Completions." The courses listed in that section are those that you have taken during your current continuing education cycle or renewal period. These courses are used to determine your CE compliance plus any allowed carryover credits from a prior period (if allowed by the applicable state).
There are three key fields contained on the Education Transcript that are most helpful to understand this report. All three fields are located in the header information bar.
Those fields are:
1) CE Compliant – This field will either contain the word "Yes" or "No." If "Yes," you are CE compliant and can submit your license renewal application. If "No," you are not CE compliant.
2) Date Compliance Met – This is the date that the system received the required number and type of credits—such as General or Ethics—required for you to become CE compliant. If this field does not contain a date, you are not yet CE compliant.
3) Credits Needed for Renewal – Assuming you are not CE Compliant, this field will tell you explicitly how many and what type of credits—General or Ethics, for example—you are required to take before you become CE compliant. If this field contains any values greater than zero then you are not CE compliant.
Find missing courses
SBS relies on the education provider, in most cases, to submit your course completion online. If you do not see a course that should be included in your education transcript, contact that course's education provider.
For Oregon Resident Licensees
Starting on May 7th, all continuing education courses completed on or after the 7th will be reported to Oregon by the education provider. However, any courses taken prior to May 7th will still need to be submitted to the Oregon Insurance Division by the individual licensee upon renewal. A course completed after May 7th will display on the licensee's education transcript at the point the education provider submits the course roster. Licensees should be aware that courses taken prior to May 7th will most likely not display on their transcript.
For Nebraska Resident Licensees
Starting on July 16th, all continuing education courses and prelicensing courses completed on or after the 16th will be reported to Nebraska by the education provider. However, any courses taken prior to July 16th will still need to be submitted to the Nebraska Department of Insurance by the individual licensee upon renewal. A course completed after July 16th will display on the licensee's education transcript at the point the education provider submits the course roster. Licensees should be aware that courses taken prior to July 16th will most likely not display on their transcript.
Go to www.statebasedsystems.com/EmailAddressMaintenance.htm to update/validate your e-mail address. 1) Start on the E-mail Address Maintenance Search page and select the License State from the dropdown box. You will need to perform this maintenance for each state in which you hold an active license. 2) Select Entity Type—Individual or Business Entity. 3) Input Last Name of licensee; must match last name of licensee on license record exactly. 4) Input the last four digits of your Social Security Number. 5) Select National Producer Number (NPN) or License Number from the dropdown box, then input the corresponding number in the box to the right. 6) Click the Search button. 7) After the search has completed, select the Maintain email address button now visible under the Search button.
The next page displays the current Business, Mailing, and Residence e-mail addresses on file. If this is blank, there are no addresses on file for the current licensee. To simply validate the current e-mail addresses as correct, click the Submit button at the bottom of the page. To add or change an e-mail address, select the button next to Update my Business/Mailing/Residence E-mail Address to: and input the address (twice) in the boxes provided. Click the Submit button, and that's it! The system will update all e-mail addresses selected for all the active licenses held in the current state at the same time.
Jurisdictions using SBS will be transitioning to the new version of SBS 'SBS 2016' on a monthly basis from January through September 2016. As each jurisdiction transitions to SBS 2016, the SBS tools you use will change. These new tools can be accessed from the 'State Services' page or by going to the Can't find your SBS state? page.
This SBS service is available only in states licensed to use NAIC's State Based Systems producer licensing and continuing education services. To show interest and support for this or any other SBS service where it's currently unavailable, contact the applicable state's department of insurance.

NPN: National Producer Number (displays for Individual producers only).
FIRST_NAME: First name of the Individual producer.

The purchase price for the generated report/resulting data set is $.02 per row (record) returned from the query based on the user-selected criteria, with a minimum charge of $10.00 per report. Reports greater than $10.00 must be calculated in even dollar amounts, so if your report contains an uneven number of records, the price will simply be rounded down a penny.
From the Search Criteria for Report Generator page, select the desired criteria by which to pull the data. Click the Continue button. The report query then runs and refreshes the page. Now displayed are the report fields available along with the input or selected criteria. Below the criteria, a Report Summary table displays with the number of records (rows) generated from the criteria, the cost per row, and the total cost for this report.
Once you have examined the report summary table and decide to purchase this report/data set, read the Terms and Conditions, and check the box indicating that you agree to them. Click the Billing Details button. For payment instructions click here.
Once payment is successfully made, a confirmation page displays. You can download the report directly from this page by clicking the "Download your report" button. A file download dialog box opens with the options to open or save the file. Click the Save button to save the file to your computer.

These six-character codes allow you to retrieve this report at a later time should it be necessary to do so. Simply go to the first screen for Report Generator, then click the button labeled "Retrieve Existing Report" in the header. Input the PIN and the Transaction ID, and then click Continue to retrieve the report again. The report is available for about thirty (30) days from the transaction date.
The comma-separated values (CSV) file format is a set of file formats used to store tabular data in which numbers and text are stored in plain textual form that can be read in a text editor. Lines in the text file represent rows of a table, and commas in a line separate what are fields in the table's row.
CSV is a simple file format that is widely supported, so it is often used to move tabular data between different computer programs that support compatible CSV formats. For example: a CSV file might be used to transfer information from a database program to a spreadsheet.
